My Recent Education

So since you last heard from me, I can say we are doing great. Macy has been okay with the whole transition. She went through a few rough days... that is until 'sassy sauce' was introduced. Sassy Sauce is a few drops of vinegar after a few drops of smart mouth. The smell alone freaked her freak. When she got her first dose (and only dose so far) it was pretty rough. She has not been too sassy since.

Other than sassy sauce, we have been doing well. Bryan has been working 90 mph but still able to spend good time with me and Macy. We have been to the pool at our apartment several times and been eating out a lot. I actually cooked on our stove tonight for the first time. The microwave and paper plates (sorry my green friends. sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do when you can't find half the things that should be in your kitchen) have kept us alive.

I have learned several things recently:

1. Driving from GA to TX with MJ was not as crazy as I expected.

2. Driving away from GA was just as hard as I knew it would be.

3. Driving into TX was quite exciting.

4. Zoila is my hero.

5. Window sills make good night stands to hold phones, glasses, beanie babies.

6. The GA Aquarium is wonderful.

7. The Houston Zoo is hot but good (photo of MJ navigating the zoo for us).

8. The Met is great. Macy and Bryan are loving it-that's all that matters to me at this point. I'm gonna be involved with MOPS soon, MJ will begin LAMB school at the end of August where she will go to Pre-K from 9:00-12:30 and 'stay n play' until 2:30. Mommy likey!

9. I guess I will have to look for a job while MJ is in school. That is good and bad. Good because I like to work and learn new things, bad because I like having the freedom to explore Houston/Cypress, hang out with other moms, watch tivo'd Lettermans... you get the picture.

10. If I have to unpack and flatten one more box, I'll scream.

11. July 4th was fun at the Chambless camp. (in photo, Bryan felt sorry for Riley because she wasn't tall enough to get in the photo, so he improvised)

12. Macy can do a front flip/roll from the side of the pool. She just did it out of the blue today. Cracked me up.

13. Did I mention I missed my Compass fam?!!?!?? I'm just sayin'

Having just experienced the move from GA to TX ourselves, we can totally sympathize with a lot in your blog. I just wanted to say that your last point resonates with us as well (and we were just there!) Great to see an update! -Nathan

We will have to catch up sometime when we come to Houston. My parents live in Spring. I would love to spend some time with you all. Email me if you would like. kaylamjones@att.net

Hi there! I happened to stumble upon your blog, so I thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. I am also a recent transplant to the Houston area (we live in Tomball), having moved here about six months ago from Tucson, Arizona. You might know my friends Paul & Laurie Sims from Athens. Anyway, I noticed in your blog that you'll be attending MOPS at The MET in September. I don't go to church there, but will be attending MOPS there (since my church doesn't have a MOPS group). I'm signed up for the 1/3 session, so if you're also in that session, maybe I'll see you there! I have a little boy, Jackson, who is almost 2 1/2. Take care!
